Treats or Dinner?

Take a look at our menu and you'll find many items that could be an every day part of your dog's diet. You could serve a mighty tasty three-course dinner and your dog would love you for it.

Remember that dogs are sensitive to diet changes and if our items are to become a daily selection, make the transition over time.

Where's the Wheat?

You've probably noticed that we emphasize that many of items are wheat-free. Many dogs are showing signs of potential wheat allergies and if we don't need it for a recipe, we won't use it.

Main Ingredients

Pick up any off-the-shelf treat and examine the ingredients. You'll probably find a lot of things that defy description and there's probably good business reasons why that stuff is in there. Mass production and high volume distribution leads to fillers and preservatives and, unfortunately, questionable nutrition for your dog. What you get from Food 4 Fidos is something that is made from a real recipe, has fresh understandable ingredients and has a shelf life - not a half life.

There are two parts to giving your dog a treat. One part is your dog's anticipation and delight of something that's not part of their everyday diet. The other is the enjoyment you get when you deliver the goods. So, break from tradition and skip the cookie and bring on the quiche!

A lot of thought goes into what we create here at Food 4 Fidos. We try to strike a balance between nutrition and fun to bring a flavorful experience that fits your dog's needs. We pay particular attention to potential allergy concerns by limiting our use of processed wheat, corn, refined sugars and fillers that may satisfy our tastes but do nothing for your dog.

Here are some of the items and ingredients we use:

Wheat-free Pastry Shells - Many of our items are conveniently placed in a pastry shell. This shell is made with 100% brown rice flour and is great for puppies that have wheat allergies and trouble with gluten.

Stocks and Broths - Our stocks and broths are made from fresh chicken or beef with tummy-friendly vegetables.

Sweeteners - Dogs don't naturally crave sugars like we do - though they are an essential part of their diet. We use organic honey and molasses only when we need to sweeten a recipe.

Flaxseed - A common ingredient in our baked goods. Flaxseed is a great source of omega-3 fatty acids and we often use it as a fortifier.

Quinoa - Quinoa (pronounced KEEN-wah), a true "superfood", is an excellent source of iron, potassium, magnesium and zinc. With lots of protein and essential amino acids it's a great supplement or foundation for a number of our recipes. Perfect for the gluten-free diet.

Yogurt - We use plain yogurt as a milk-substitute in many of our items. It's more tummy-friendly and has important essential enzymes that you can't get with milk.
